What To Wear: 15 Summer Date Outfit Ideas

06.11.21Fashion6

I asked y’all want kind of things you wanted to see from me fashion wise, and I got an overwhelming amount of date outfit ideas. We all know I am single as a Pringle (check out my hinge dating fails if you haven’t yet), but I love putting together a good outfit and a girl can hope right?!

There are so many summer date ideas, but it doesn’t just have to be romantic dates. You can go on a girl date, friends date, mom date, solo date – anything! But summertime is really the best time to get out and explore! From baseball games, to rooftops bars, to concerts – the summertime activity possibilities are endless!

Remember that feeling comfortable and confident in what you’re wearing is key. These outfits may seem a bit dressier than your typical choice but keep in mind that clothes are my “identity” and a huge part of me so obviously I want that to show through and really wanted to put together looks that I would actually wear to each occassion (I promise they are not all pink!). I hope this post gives you some outfit inspiration for your next date or if nothing else, a few date ideas for the summer.

15 Summer Date Outfit Ideas

Baseball Game

I have been DYING to go to Wrigley for a Cubs game lately! As someone who has spent her fair share of time around the baseball field, I would be super excited if a man asked me to a game.

Ball games are usually super hot; if you don’t have a jersey to show your support go with a solid tank and some denim shorts. I’d keep the footwear choice pretty comfy and recommend the team’s baseball hat or your hair up. I’m throwing on a clear bag to make bag check even easier!

Brunch

Set from Zara: TOP // BOTTOM

I find that brunch is either super casual or a bit fancier. For my outfit inspo I decided to dress up a bit. This is totally something I’d wear out with my girls too “just because”. I have been really into two piece sets lately, they are adorable!

I have been loving gingham lately, if you couldn’t tell, and this set just gets the job done. It is lightweight and would be so cute worn as separates. I’m thinking this top with white denim, or the skirt and a bodysuit!

Museum/Art Gallery

I love a good museum. I think a museum or an art gallery is a great date idea- especially on a rainy day! I think a midi dress is perfect for the occasion. Midi dresses are super classy and I love how feminine they are! I have a whole post about midi dresses here! I would pair mine with sneakers because museums usually involve some walking.

Winery

Wine, cheese, outside the perfect summertime afternoon to me. Visiting wineries are so fun, and is a perfect summer date idea in my book. Sipping on some wine, having some good conversation (plus if they have wine slushees!). I would hands down wear a cute sun dress to a winery. It would be breezy in the summer heat, and nothing beats a classic sun dress. If you are in the Chicago area check out my favorite places to drink wine here!

Brewery

Hands down my favorite date idea ever! I LOVE breweries and trying new ones in the area. Sipping on some beer, enjoying the sunshine, and live music is always a plus. If every date I go on would be at a brewery I would be a happy girl! The vibes of breweries are more chill so a causal outfit is a good choice. I love a romper and sneaker combo and it is great for breweries.

Hike

I almost always wear a matching workout set when going walking/on a hike. You can’t go wrong with one and I always prefer this route over a basic tee shirt and shorts. Going on walks or a bike ride is my summer jam. I love spending time outdoors enjoying the sun so these dates are always a fun idea! Remember a scrunchie if it gets really hot!

Picnic

Because you’re likely going to be outside in the hot sun, I’d recommend a simple tank and shorts. I’m reaching for a black eyelet crop top and my favorite denim shorts. For shoes, I’m slipping on some casual slides. You probably don’t need a purse but if you’re extra like me this watermelon bag would be so fitting for the occasion. Head to Trader’s Joe and pick up some things to make a charcuterie board, or get take out from your favorite restaurant, grab a bottle of wine and a blanket and you are good to go!

Beach Day

I feel like this one is pretty self-explanatory, a cute bikini and you’re good to go. I love this oversized silk button-down for a fun coverup when walking around! I always bring a hat with me to the beach and a straw bag is perfect size for your towel, sunscreen, book and sunglasses!

Boat/Lake Day

Headed on a boat or to the lake for the day? I tend to rock a one-piece when I’m doing more “sporty” water activities. I also love one-pieces because they give off bodysuit vibes when paired with denim shorts! Slipping on some comfy shoes and a baseball hat to keep the sun off of my scalp and nose. This is the perfect “outfit” for when you aren’t actually in the water. Remember a sweatshirt for when the sun goes down!

Drinks

When you think about a normal first date or date – drinks is 8/10 times what it is. I’m obviously not a huge fan of black as we all know, but something about an all black look can be so sexy. I went with a full-on monochrome look here starting off with a black lace tank. I tucked this top into a pair of tailor black shorts and gave myself some height (my secret confidence weapon) by adding a pair of nude mules which helps elongate your legs.

Dinner

My favorite thing to do is get dressed up and go to dinner. I love a good excuse to get dolled up. This is one of my favorite dresses right now! I am a huge fan of the puff sleeves and statement sleeves so this dress is just IT! I love accessorizing with a straw bag in the summertime. It is just too adorable!

Patio/Rooftop

Sandals from Zara

Of course, fancy dinners aren’t always the case, sometimes you’re just headed into town to eat at the local favorite! For a casual dinner, I tend to reach for just a cute top and jeans. I love a good puff sleeve top and the colors of this one are so fun! I’m popping on some sandals for a flatter option that look a bit dressier.

Night In

In all honesty, if I were staying in to watch a movie and eat take out, I’d probably just wear sweats but if I were wanting to look a bit more put together, I’d reach for a really comfy pair of pants or a comfy lounge set. These are super wide and great “eating” pants lol.

Concert

I love all music, but you bet you will find me at something country so that’s what I’m dressed for in this outfit; however, you could easily swap my boots out for sneakers for another genre concert. Don’t ask me about festival outfit ideas because I have never been to one! A crop top and cut off shorts are the best combo for a hot day of singing in the sun!

Mini Golf/Top Golf/Golf

I know some girls aren’t always huge fans of golf but it’s something the guys seem to love! You don’t have to be super good to have fun. I give myself an A for effort. Wear something you’re comfortable in/can easily move around in. Tennis/golf skirts are EVERYWHERE and I think they are so sporty and fun! I love longer sports bras that can serve as tank tops. They are the best when it’s super hot out! Pair one with a little tennis skirt and some matching sneakers and boom, outfit complete.

What are you favorite summer date ideas!?! And if you are a cute boy and wants to take me on any of these, let me know!
