As the weather starts to get chillier, there are more cozy nights in snuggled up with a blanket. As Netflix and chill season is approaching and as we impatiently wait for season 2 of Outerbanks, or the next season of All American, I thought I would round up what I have been currently binging.
I am a big tv girl, I love winding down an evening watching a couple shows and maybe enjoying a glass of wine. I am so excited that The Bachelorette is back! It makes me so happy that our shows are finally starting to come out again due to the pandemic. While I do have a lengthy list of tv shows that are on cable – yes I still have cable – I am always searching high and low for the newest Netflix, Prime, or Hulu shows.
I feel like everyone has watched everything during quarantine, so there has been times when I felt like there is nothing to watch! Low and behold if you search long enough you will find some hidden gems.
What I’m Currently Binging
The Royals
Calling all Gossip Girl fans and if you have any interest in the Royal Family. This drama about a fictional British royal family in modern-day London is addicting! I flew through all 4 seasons.
Emily In Paris
If you haven’t seen Emily In Paris yet, spend this weekend binging the 10 episode season. While this show is everywhere right now, I had to include it on my list. It is a cheesy-feel good show that puts you in a good mood and makes you want to book the next flight to Paris. Emily is a twenty-something Chicagoan that gets the opportunity to work for a luxury marketing agency in Paris. She backs her bags and her beret and heads to the City of Love. She turns into an influencer, and has a closet to die for.
Queen Of The South
A true hidden gem on Netflix that is worth watching! Queen of the South tells the story of Teresa Mendoza, a woman who is forced to run and seek refuge in America after her drug-dealing boyfriend is unexpectedly murdered in Mexico. In the process, she teams up with an unlikely person from her past to bring down the leader of the very drug trafficking ring that has her on the run. Talk about a strong female lead – this show is action packed!
UnREAL
If The Bachelorette isn’t enough drama for you, then UnREAL is for you! The show is about the making of a reality love show, Everlasting, which is EXTREMELY similar to The Bachelor. Producer Rachel and show runner Quinn have some twisted minds as they make the impossible possible on the reality tv show. It makes you wonder how “real” The Bachelor is after all.
Killing Eve
If you are ready to see Christina Yang in a new light, then this is for you! Sandra Oh plays an M15 agent who’s been assigned to hunt down a highly skilled assassin her. Their cat-and-mouse game ever-increasing in intensity as they become obsessed with one another. This one surprised me on how much I liked it!
Indian Matchmaking
Matchmaker Sima Taparia guides clients in the U.S. and India in the arranged marriage process, offering an inside look at the custom in a modern era. This is such a light-hearted show. It was easy to watch and very entertaining. I found myself rooting for the people to find their match!
Girl Boss
Rebellious and broke, Sophia stumbles into creating an online business and learns how to be the boss. A comedy inspired by the best-selling memoir. This is another hidden gem. I watched it a few months ago and just saw it on my Netflix so I thought it would be a good one to add to the list!
What have you been binging lately???
