What I Read In June

07.06.20Books, Lifestyle7

I can’t believe it is already July and we are half way through 2020! While this year has been a whirlwind, I have so much to look forward to this second half of the year. All of the wedding festivities are beginning and it makes me so excited for November!

Looking back at my New Year’s Resolutions, one of mine was to read more. Well thanks to corona, I have been able to really focus on this. I wanted to gain back my love for casual reading, and I definitely have done this. Recently, I have been reading about a book a week.

I thought I would start a new series, because so many of y’all are always reaching out asking for book recommendations. I am going to round up the books I read each month.

Please please send me your recommendations if you read something good, so I can read it and share with y’all!

The Guest List by Lucy Foley

The first book I read, was from my Book Of The Month box, and I went a little out of my comfort zone and picked a thriller. This one really caught my eye because it takes place at a wedding. I thought it was fitting!

This thriller takes place during a wedding on a remote island off of the coast of Ireland. There is a murder, and the book takes you through the possible suspects of who it may be.

This novel kept me on the tips of my toes the whole time. I stayed up way too late reading this to find out who was killed and who the murderer was!

The Two Lives Of Lydia Bird by Josie Silver

Imagine losing the love of your life? This is exactly what Lydia Bird had to live through. Her fiancé died in a tragic car crash on her birthday. Her world was flipped upside down in a matter of seconds.

After her doctor prescribes her with something to help her sleep at night, she soon realizes that when she falls asleep she is transported to an alternate universe, where her fiancé is not dead. She finds herself wanting to sleep a whole lot more than try to figure out life without him. However, there is someone new in her life, her real life, who wants her to stay.

Red, White, & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

I picked this novel because it was pride month, and this story focuses on a LGBTQ love story. A love story between arch enemies – the first son of the President of the United States and the Prince of England. Alex and Henry have not been fans of each other since they first met. However, after an altercation and they are “forced” to spend time together to show the press they are besties, they start to actually see the other isn’t as bad as they thought.

After a steamy hook up, the two are inseparable and their love starts to grow between each other. But how could the first son and the Prince of England keep their relationship a secret and not leak it to the press? You will just have to read to see how it unfolds.

Fight or Flight by Samantha Young

This steamy book was the perfect read as June wrapped up because the temperatures were getting HOT!

Ava has a series of unfortunate events happen at the airport. From just missing a first class upgrade by one person, getting her coffee order wrong, and getting her flight delayed until the next day. During all of these events she runs into the rudest Scotsman, Caleb. He happens to be present during all of these events and makes sure to rub it in her face. After finally getting put at the same hotel during their layover, they started to chat. This chat turned into an epic one night stand that Ava claims was the best sex of her life. After they went their own ways after they reached their final destination.

Fate must’ve stepped in because they found each other crossing each other’s paths once again. They vowed that it would simply be no strings attached. However, they both start catching feelings for the other.

What book would you want to read?? What did you read the month of June? Any good recs?
