I started my new job last week! I have officially joined the tons of people who work from home now. It has definitely been an adjustment because I have never worked from home before. I wanted to ensure that I set myself up for success so I did all my research on how to make my home office.
I quickly learned the things that have already made working from home so much easier, so I wanted to share with y’all. But PLEASE send all of your recommendations too! I would love to hear what makes your WFH easier.
Daily Planner
I am someone thrives when I have a planner. I like to write everything down! It helps keep me organized and on top of what I need to do. I take it up a notch and I use my Google Calendar on my phone and I have my physical planner. I love Bando planners because they are cute, colorful and I like how they are set up!
Marble Charging Pad
I am someone who hates seeing pesky cords all over my desk when I am trying to work. I definitely enjoy a clean workspace. This charging pad is a chic way to hide cords while charging my phone.
Blue Light Glasses
If there was one thing from this post that resonates with you, are these blue light glasses. These are my saving grace! I work on a computer pretty much all day, and if I do not have my blue light glasses handy, I find myself getting headaches and my eyes get so tired during the day. I highly recommend a pair of blue light glasses if you work behind a screen all day! I love these because they come in a TON of colors, but y’all know I had to go with the pink!
Positive Mugs
You can never have too many mugs! I thought these were darling with the little positive quotes! I consider myself a morning person, but these would just make any Monday morning a little brighter. I am personally a tea drinker and not a coffee drinker.
Dry Erase To Do List Board
I don’t know about you, but I am someone who has to write everything down! I also am a different kind of weird and write out a to-do list because I genuinely enjoy crossing items off. This big dry erase board is amazing because I can write down everything I need to do for the week/day and it is right in front of my face.
Yeti Cup
Hydrating is key and super important. Personally, my yeti is my favorite water bottle. It keeps my water so cold, and I love how big it is. I try to drink at least 4 of them a day. It is a little expensive for a water bottle, but I use it every single day. It also comes in a ton of colors, if pink isn’t your jam!
Notebook
Just like mugs, you can never have too many notebooks. I am still old school and like to take hand written notes, so I go through notebooks like no other. While I don’t think it is possible to walk out of Home Goods or TJ Maxx without at least one notebook in my cart, I love Bando’s as well! If you can’t tell I love bright, colorful, and lots of prints when it comes to my desk/home office!
Fuzzy Lounge Set
Personally being someone who dresses for success and feels better when my outfit is put together, this new working from home in my pjs has been an adjustment. I have struggled honestly because I am find myself 100% more productive when I am dressed for the part. I have settled on elevated loungewear as I call it. My go to has been joggers on the bottom, and a sweater or cardigan. I do my hair and minimal make up every day because that is my personal preference. But this fuzzy set needs to be in my rotation of new loungewear sets!
Diffuser
I am a self proclaimed candle addict. I always have one burning. They just relax me, and I just love the smell of a good candle. I have also been using my diffuser a lot more too during the work day. I have been playing around with different essential oil scents. Jasmine and lavender are always my go to!
Inspirational Wall Art
I never miss an opportunity to decorate. Even if it is only my desk area in my room. I have taken full advantage to transform this corner of my room into my own little boss babe home office. This includes many inspirational wall prints to keep my going through the day! My go to is Hobby Lobby and just let the aisles speak to me, but Etsy is another great option with lots of Digital print options, so no need to wait for shipping!
Slippers
Is anyone else’s toes ALWAYS COLD? I am talking from the time you wake up to time you go to bed? I love me a good pair of fuzzy socks, but slippers have been my jam lately from working from home. Especially since my room is above the garage, it is extra chilly. So I am always wrapped up in a blanket, and I have a space heater under my desk!
Laniege Lip Mask
I’ve talked about this stuff before, but it is just too good. It keeps your lip so soft and supple. I find myself applying this during the day, as well as tons of hand lotion to keep my hands moisturized.
Desk Lamp
Last on this list is a good desk lamp. Lighting is key, especially when you are spending all day on video calls. I am lucky that my desk is right next to a window so I get lots of natural light. Also invest in a good desk chair! You will be spending hours on end in it, and you want to make sure your bum is comfy!
What are your work from home essentials! Please give me all the recommendations since I am new to this!
