Time to talk skincare! To be honest, I have pretty much have the same skincare routine since as long as I can remember. It was pretty boring, and to be honest that is why I have never shared much about it because I didn’t feel like it was very interesting to hear about.
As you can see below there are a lot of Clinique products because they have done wonders for my skin for many many years now. Don’t fix what’s not broken am I right?
But ever since getting engaged, I have taken my skin more seriously. Plus I want to make sure I have the most glowy, flawless skin for the big day in November. I know my glam squad that day will do everything they can to make me beautiful (shoutout to the Stidham sisters!!), but I want to be sure I give them a good base to work with!
Also, while we have been stuck inside due to quarantine, I’ve been able to really focus on my skin because frankly there’s not much else to do. There’s no late nights out to “forget” to wash my face, so there’s no excuse to do a proper skincare routine every night.
I try to listen to my skin and see what it needs on a nightly basis. If I had a day in the sun, then I try to do a hydrating sheet mask at night, and so forth. I still have a lot to learn about skincare, don’t even ask me what a serum is because I have to do a lot of research, but I feel like I have mastered what I do.
Please give me your recommendations as well! I love trying new products to add into rotation!
- Clinique Moisture Surge – This stuff is SO GOOD. I have been using to for close to 2 years now, and I literally use it until I can’t get any out. It is so lightweight, but also so hydrating. I use this moisturizer every morning and night.
- Purlisse Watermelon 2 Minute Peel – I got this product in a FabFitFun box, but I have already ordered it again for a second time. I use this product every other night right after I wash my face, before patting my face dry since you need to apply it to a wet face. It smells like summer in a bottle and leaves my face so smooth and bright!
- Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Mild – This is the face wash I use nightly. It is so gentle, and gets off all of my makeup, dirt, and other nastiness that’s gotten on my face during the day. This is a very simple face wash, no fragrance, just clean and fresh.
- Isles of Paradise Tanning Drops – These things are golden little droplets in a bottle. Personally, I HATE the smell of self tanner. So I have stayed away from it, until I discovered these goodies. You put these tanning right into your lotion. The more you add, the darker you will be. I use about 3-4 drops in my body lotion, and about 2 drops in my face moisturizer. It gives you a great natural glow! I use the medium shade.
- Sun Bum Lip Balm – Does anyone else get really bad sunburnt lips? I feel like every boat or beach day my lips are dying the next day. I always have this SPF chapstick with me in the summer. It tastes so yummy (I currently have the pomegranate flavor) and it soothes your lips. I put it on anytime I will be in the sun a lot.
- FaceTory Sheet Masks – I am a sucker for sheet masks. I think they are relaxing and fun. I love scaring Mitch when I come out of the bathroom because you look like a zombie! But besides the fact, I hate spending a lot of money on sheet masks because you use it once and then toss it. I found this pack on Amazon that are 7 for $13, and I have ordered them twice already! They have so many different kinds for different skin needs. I like trying the different ones so I know which ones like more than others to reorder.
- Clinique Pep Start Exfoliating Cleanser – This stuff just wakes me up in the morning! This 2-1 exfoliating cleanser is the best way to start my day. It smells so fresh and slightly citrus which makes it perfect for a morning face wash and it brightens my skins so much. It is light enough that you can use it daily. Some exfoliators are meant to be used twice a week, but this one says it is soft enough to use daily, and I love how it makes my skin feel.
- Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask – This is something new that I have added to my nighttime skincare routine, and boy am I happy I did. I think I’ve seen almost every influencer talk about this lip mask. I’ve never used one, and frankly didn’t know why I needed to. I finally caved and ordered it, and WOW it makes a difference. My lips are so supple, soft, and hydrated after using it. I really pack it on before bed, and wake up with the softest lips!
- Yes To Cucumber Eye Masks– Something else that I am new to the game to is eye masks. Like sheet masks I did not want to spend a ton of money on them. After some research, I found these, and I like them. The cucumber scent is relaxing, and they are cool and really get rid of puffiness. I keep them in the fridge so they are extra cool when I put them on.
- Clinique Clarifying Lotion Exfoliator 2 – I recieved this product as a freebie when I ordered my moisturizer once, and Clinique knew what they were doing, they get me hooked. I use this after I wash my face, or after my watermelon peel. It does sting a little when you apply it because there is alcohol in it, but most toners do. I love the clean feeling after I use it. It is not harsh on my skins and helps make sure I get everything off my face so my moisturizer can really soak into my skin.
