Welcome November! As much as I love October, November is the start of the holiday season. The holiday season is my favorite time of year. Not only do I love all the holiday food and eating, I love that everyone gathers togethers during this time of year. Whether it be family parties, holiday parties, Friendsgiving, or just going out on the town, I love dressing for the holidays! Besides all the fun holiday fashion trends make it extra special. One of my favorite holiday trends are the different lip colors you see everywhere. It is a time to go outside of your comfort zone, and make your lips an accessory of their own.
I rounded up a few of my favorite lipsticks that I will be sporting all holiday season long. I am someone who thrives on drugstore lipsticks – so majority of these are on the less expensive side. Once I really fall in love with a lip color, I feel like I can splurge on a nicer one.
From pinky nudes, to dark plum, and of course holiday red I will be sporting the bold lip as much as I can the next couple months!
Maybelline New York Super Stay Matte Ink: Seductress
I have been sporting this nude matte with my every day looks. I love a pinky nude to just enhance your lips. I also feel like nude goes good with any look. From leggings and a sherpa running errands, to brunch with the ladies. This matte lipstick also is very moisturizing. I HATE when I wear a matte lipstick and my lips feel like they are cracking and so dry. This is a perfect every day color.
Real Her Liquid Lipstick: I Am Perfect True Nude
Another pinky-nude, I know. A girl likes what she likes am I right? But I have been using this lipstick for the last couple years, and you can probably always find it on me. I wear this shade all year long, but will be using it to get that perfect “I’m wearing lipstick, but you can’t really tell because it is subtle” look.
Loréal Colour Riche: Spiced Cider
Not going to lie, I strictly saw the name of this one and was intrigued. I wonder who’s job it is to name lipsticks, and how I can get on that? Anywho, this is a great red/brown tone without fully committing to the bright red. You could easily pair this lip color with casual and dressy looks. It has a very smooth finish and stays put. I even tested it on a wine night, and it passed with flying colors. I think this will be the shade I will be sporting for all my Thanksgiving festivities.
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick: Plum Baby
I feel like this time of year, everyone is going for the plum and wine color lip shades. This one looked way darker than it actually was on my lips. I loved this shade because it is a more subtle plum, unlike the next one that I will show you. This one also has a little shimmer which makes it perfect for holiday parties, or date night. Also, it is probably the most moisturizing lipstick I have in my collection. It is so hydrating, and feels like chapstick practically, but way prettier!
NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick: Vintage
Now onto, the deep purple shade I will be sporting this holiday season. Something about a dark bold lip makes any look so chic in my opinion. This is totally not my normal every day lip color, but it’s fun to switch it up now and then. Now I would not particularly wear this shade on a Sunday afternoon. I would save this for a Friday night on the town, or a special occasion. However, this one stays on all night, and passes the food and drink test. Mitch also loves a dark lipstick on me, so I try to pull it out more and more once the temperatures drop.
NYX Lip Cream: Simply Red
My absolute favorite lip color to sport during the holiday season is bright red. It is very bold, and I think it just screams the holiday season! If you are ever weary about trying a red, do it. It adds such an element of class, and confidence to your look. I was a competitive cheerleader growing up, so I practically grew up wearing red lipstick. I quickly learned that as an adult I much prefer a cream red instead of a matte red. I think the cream makes your lips look fuller and makes the color pop.
