Happy holiday weekend! The 4th is the kickoff to summer and I am here for it! Summer is not canceled, things may look different, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy your summer. Mine will be filled with sunshine, good food, good people, and lots of lake days.
I was so happy that we brought our boat to Kentucky this summer. I am so excited to spend my summer days floating with a cold drink in my hand on the water.
We go out on the boat at least once a week, so I am pretty much now a professional when it comes for packing for a lake day. I know exactly what I bring each time.
I know a lot of y’all will be spending the holiday weekend on the water, so I thought it would be fun to share my lake day essentials! Still looking for outfit ideas for the 4th, check out some here!
Party Float
Every lake weekend deserves some fun and color with a party float. Flamingos are my favorite, but you can also get creative with floats like this llama and this rose bottle. They make the perfect photo op, and everyone has more fun with a party float. I secretly want the wedding ring and the avocado!
Koozi
Okay this is one of my FAVORITE things. How many times have you had a 12 oz drink like a white claw or one of the slim canned beers and it won’t fit in a normal koozie?? Well not anymore! Ever since I got my brumate, it keeps my drinks cold all day long and fits perfectly around my drink. Not to mention, it comes in so many cute colors. I love my pink one! But if beer or white claws aren’t your thing, they have so many different shapes and sizes for any drink.
Beach Towel
This one is a given, but you would be surprised how many people forget to bring a towel to the lake. Whether you’re just going to lay out or you’re hopping in to swim, you’ve got to have a cute towel in your bag. I’m loving all of the fun prints, colors, and designs.
Sun Screen
Whenever you are in the sun you should put sunscreen on. I need to get better at wearing it daily, however, I am allergic to sunscreen so I can only use certain kinds. My go to are Banana Boat/Hawaiian Tropic because I know that I won’t have an allergic reaction. I have heard so many good things about Tula’s sunscreen, I just have to check with my doctor before smearing it all over my face!
Wave Spray
I love love love using a wave spray in my hair, especially when i’ve been swimming. I’ll spray it before I go and then keep spraying it throughout the day to add texture and body. I’ve been using this one because I love the scent and how weightless my hair feels after. It doesn’t leave your hair crunchy like so many others I’ve tried!
Snacks
Snacks are an absolute must during any lake day! Your girl gets hangry, plus all the swimming makes everyone hungry! I love bringing easy snacks that everyone can just pick at. We love cheese and crackers, fresh fruit, pretzels, guac, and hummus while we are on the boat. Our favorite is drunken pineapple. Which is pineapple soaked in Malibu rum. It is so yummy!
Ball Cap
I always have a ball cap or some kind of hat in my bag. Not only does it protect my head & face from the sun, but it keeps me nice and cool so I don’t burn up all day! It is also great for the evening to calm your lake hair!
Sweatshirt
There is nothing worse than being on the boat in the sun all day, and coming in after the sun goes down and freezing your booty off. I always make sure to throw a sweatshirt in my bag so I can always be prepared!
