I Did A 3 Day Juice Cleanse

07.20.20Lifestyle3

Happy Monday! If you followed along on Instagram, you saw that I spent my weekend doing a 3 day juice cleanse with Pressed Juicery. I have never done a juice cleanse before, and since I am officially 4 months out till the wedding I figured it would be a great time to try one! I did the beginner cleanse. It is sold by the day, so I just ordered 3 days worth!

The 3 day juice cleanse consists of 6 juices a day that you drink every 2 hours. My first juice was at 10am after my work out, and had my last one at 8pm. I drank A TON of water in-between each juice.

My biggest worry was that my energy levels would be super low, so for exercise I just stuck to walking. I did an hour each day. I didn’t want to risk being too weak during an Orange Theory class.

However, I never felt weak, or really hungry. The only times I was hungry was around dinner time. Dinner is always my biggest meal of the day, so my stomach would start to growl around then. But most of the time whenever I felt hungry it was time for a new juice. I am always a night snacker, so that was hard to not have a little sweet treat before bed. Sunday was by far the hardest day for me.

Now onto the results. My main goal wasn’t to try to lose a ton of weight during this because I knew that is not what a juice cleanse is for. I wanted to reset my body so I can start focusing on my health more. I wanted to use this as a kick-off. I did end up losing 3 pounds however.

Vanilla Almond

  • Almonds
  • Dates
  • Vanilla
  • Sea salt

Rating: 3/5

Starting my morning with a little sweeter of a juice was great. This one went down easy, and if I closed my eyes I just imagined that I was drinking my iced chai tea. It is more of a creamier constancy.

Greens 2

  • Apple
  • Cucumber
  • Celery
  • Lemon
  • Spinach
  • Kale
  • Parsley

Rating: 4/5

I am not one for green things, but this juice ended up being one of my favorites. It was so refreshing, and you could really taste the cucumber and parsley. I would drink this juice on the daily because it was actually that good!

Roots 2

  • Carrot
  • Apple
  • Spinach
  • Lemon
  • Parsley
  • Ginger
  • Kale

Rating: 1/5

This was my least favorite juice out of the cleanse. To me it was extremely spicy, which was probably the ginger. It is also brown, so I was just turned off by that. This was the only juice that I could barely finish.

Citrus 2

  • Apple
  • Pineapple
  • Lemon
  • Mint

Rating: 5/5

My favorite juice out of the whole cleanse, and I found myself counting down until I could drink this one! It tasted like a pineapple minty lemonade. It was super tasty! I loved having this juice after the one I did not care for. This was the perfect afternoon pick me up.

Green 3

  • Apple
  • Cucumber
  • Celery
  • Lemon
  • Spinach
  • Ginger
  • Kale
  • Parsley

Rating: 3/5

For dinner, when my stomach was starting to growl, it was time for another green juice. With this green juice you could really taste the ginger and the celery. I like the other green juice better, but after drinking juice for so long I was getting sick of liquids.

Chocolate Almond

  • Almonds
  • Dates
  • Cocoa
  • Sea Salt

Rating: 2/5

I was really excited to see that I was able to end the day with a sweeter drink. However, this drink did not do to the trick. It was extremely chalky and did not satisfy my sweet tooth. If you closed your eyes you could make pretend it tasted like chocolate milk.

I am extremely proud of myself for not cheating and sticking to it. I went all in even though I thought I could never do this. It showed how disciplined I could be.

I would probably do it again because I like the results, and it kicked me into a major healthy mode. However, I can’t wait to eat solid food!

Have you ever done a juice cleanse?
