Guys! I missed you!! Taking a week off of BasicallyB was definitely the reset I needed, but I am so happy to be back and to welcome in the new year!
Why hello there 2021. Nice to meet you! I think we were all ready to say goodbye for 2020 for good. Even though I am well aware that ringing in a new year will not make all of our problems go away.
We are still in a world pandemic. We are living a life in masks. We are staying home. We are not seeing family as much. There are still a lot of issues as this new year begins.
For me 2020 was a whirlwind. A lot of ups and a lot of downs. I had a lot of change, and I am ready for more change in 2021. I am back home and in a sense re-starting my career. I feel in a way the world is my oyster and I have a chance to re-develop myself into the woman I actually want to be.
I want 2021 to be the year of me. I want to focus on prioritizing my own happiness, doing what I want to, and making decisions for my own future, and whatever else is sprinkled in I am excited to see what God has planned for me!
I picked the word “bold” as my word of the year. My intentions for this year are to live boldly, and find joy every chance I get. This year I want to fill my life with people, moments, and adventures that make me happy. I’m being selfish and making my own happiness a priority this year!
10 Resolutions for 2021
- Say Yes More. Do more things outside my comfort zone. Chase adventure – road trips, late nights, last minute flights. Travel more. Be spontaneous.
- More doing, less planning. Stop thinking so much, just act.
- Celebrate small victories. Because life’s all about the journey people!
- More learning. Read the news every day. Re-learn Spanish. Cook more. Join a bible study. Read more books. Learn from others. Find my passions.
- Make bold, confident decisions. Decide what I want and do it. Don’t look for approval. STOP being such a people pleaser.
- Keep in touch. Call more often, write more letters, send more gifts, plan trips to reconnect and make it happen.
- Enjoy the moment. Put. the. phone. away. Enjoy people. Make mental memories.
- Stay true to myself. In a world where you are fed so much content all the time, it can be hard to not try to be like everyone else.
- Drink more water.
- Prioritize my own happiness. 2021 is going to be focused on myself!
