If you haven’t noticed yet, but my whole life has been consumed by fall. I am in full fall mode and could not be happier. From the leaves changing to the most gorgeous colors, to those nights spent with cozy socks on and a hot cup of chai tea (my current state), I just can’t get enough of this season! I especially love that the fall season goes hand in hand with endless fun activities to do with your significant other. Mitch and I have been fully taking advantage of all the festive activities, which has been such a blast and is a great way to spice up a relationship.
So, I thought I would make a list of all the fun activities that are perfect for couples!
1. Find a nearby orchard and go apple picking. If you’re feeling ambitious, bake an apple pie or apple crisp together with the apples you picked! Mitch has never been apple picking (must be a midwestern thing) so this is definitely happening this fall. I am team honey crisp apple. They are hands down the best kind.
2. Find your way through your local corn maze! Get lost together in a corn maze. This is also a great way to build trust and problem solving skills with your partner.
3. Go to a pumpkin patch together and pick out the perfect pumpkins for your front porch. Take a couple extra home to carve.
4. Go to a haunted house. There is nothing better than being scared and having your boyfriend “protect” you. If he takes the lead, you’ve got a keeper! Mitch and I both hate scary things, so we will not be partaking in this.
5. Go on a hike together. Fall is the best time of year to go hiking. The air is crisp, the scenery is vibrant and beautiful, and the weather is the perfect temperature. I love looking at the leaves change and all the trees!
6. Go to a football game. Fall is also my favorite season because that means it’s football season! Between the Saints, Purdue, and Alabama we have a lot of football to watch. Fingers crossed we can make it to a Saints game!
7. Stay in and watch a Halloween movie. Whether it be Hocus Pocus or a thriller, sometimes the best date nights are spent at home, so grab a blanket (to cover your eyes during the scary scenes), put on your comfy clothes, and press play!
8. Take a hay ride together.
9. Go to a fair or carnival. Carnival rides, cotton candy, funnel cakes, kettle corn; what’s not to love!?
10. Volunteer at your local food shelter. Since this is the beginning of the season of giving, give back to your community with your loved one! There is no better feeling than knowing you are helping someone in need and I promise that you will never forget the experience.
11. Go on a ghost hunt. Look up haunted places in your area and go check them out, if you dare! We live in one of the most haunted cities, so we will be taking advantage of this.
12. Take a ghost tour. This is something I love doing in new cities, or even my own. I tend to enjoy more of the historical ghost tours and learning about the city. New Orleans has so many and I have gone on a couple and love them each time.
13. Have a bon fire in your backyard. Don’t forget to bring stuff to make s’mores! I like switching out the Hershey’s chocolate for a Reese’s. It is SO YUMMY!
14. Go camping together. Just make sure to go before it gets too cold out! I’m not the biggest camper, so glamping might be more suitable for me.
15. Find an Oktoberfest near you! Nothing like drinking good German beer out a boot and enjoying a potato pancake or pretzel.
What’s on your fall bucket list this season??
