Color Cocktail Party

07.19.21Lifestyle26

I definitely recommend dressing up in crazy outfits, wigs, and glitter and throwing a color cocktail party with some of your best friends.

It was 100% a highlight of the summer, and we all just had so much fun! So many of y’all reached out about this theme idea, so I thought I would put together a little post about the details, how we made it happen, and some ideas for your own color cocktail party!

A color cocktail party is when everyone invited picks a color, and brings a cocktail in that color, and dresses up in the color as well. It is at all no surprise that I was pink! I honestly lived my best pink life in my cotton candy dress! I was so happy! We had 11 girls, so we ended up using every color in the rainbow including: pink, silver, white and black. The host of the party was rainbow!

We all knew we wanted to go all out with the theme, i.e. the wigs, crazy outfits, decor and glitter. It automatically made it more fun the more extra and out there we were. It was so fun to see everyone walk in the door, head to toe in their color.

We started planning about a month in advance, so everyone had enough time to get everything they needed for their outfits, and plan a fun drink.

For decor, we had a rainbow balloon arch for a photo backdrop, rainbow candy, rainbow confetti, and so much more! We tried making everything as colorful as possible.

Color Cocktail Ideas

It was so fun to see everyone’s creative side when it came to their color cocktail. I wanted to share a few ideas for each color in case you wanted to throw your own color cocktail party!

Rainbow

For our rainbow, she made a tequila mojito with rainbow gummy worms! It was SO refreshing and yummy! We tried a few other rainbow drinks, and y’all they are way harder than they look. But I wanted to throw a few of the ones we tried in case you are a better mixologist than we are!

Pink

I was pink, shocking, and I knew I wanted to incorporate cotton candy into my cocktail to match my dress. I ended up doing a real simple cocktail. It was sparkling rosé, topped with a big glob of pink cotton candy. It was super sweet, refreshing, bubbly, and cute!

Red

First of all, the red cups made this drink so much cuter, I loved the added detail! We had red sangria with frozen strawberries for this one!

Vodka Slushy
Two glasses of raspberry vodka slushy, each garnished with an orange slice.

Orange

For orange, we had a classic screwdriver, but what made it extra yummy was the fresh squeezed orange juice!

Yellow

I honestly don’t even know what the details of this drink was, but it was super tasty! It was like a mango tropical drink. I felt like I needed to be sitting on the beach!

Green

For green we had a Scooby Doo shot! It was actually pretty good!

Blue

For blue we had blue raspberry jello shots with whipped cream and sour rainbow candy. These were SO ADORABLE!

Purple

Purple not only looked adorable, but her drink was tasty, even though she made mine super strong! We had purple vodka lemonades (Purple Rain).

Silver

Silver, I will admit is a hard one. But she looked so cute! She did a classic tequila shot with silver sugar in it. It turned a little more golden that silver, but it was a classic to get the party really going!

Silver Cadillac Margarita
One single cocktail is pale lime green and is pour in a flared glass with ice cubes. A thin lime slice is on the glass edge against a black surrounding.

Black

First let’s take a moment for these black bat sunnies. She was a total vibe, and was giving off all witch vibes which I was here for. You don’t see a black cocktail everyday. Honestly, no one liked this one, including her, but it still looked cool.

White

White ended up being on of my favorite drinks of the night. It was a whipped lemon meringue shot! Also this is such a cute photo we got of her!

[…] When it comes to drinks, make sure there’s something for everyone2. Offer non-alcoholic drinks such as fruit-infused water and soft drinks. This will cater to guests who don’t drink alcohol. For those who do, you can prepare cocktails that match your party’s colors. Color-themed cocktails, like a tequila mojito and a mango tropical drink, can be a big party hit10. […]
