We are in the deep of winter if you are also located in the midwest. The air is freezing, the ground is covered with snow, and we are jealous of the other parts of the country that will soon be sporting their spring outfits while we are looking like marshmallows in our puffers.
About this time of year, I am sick of the normal sweater, jeans and booties combo. I am itching for something more exciting, but it is not even worth it because it is too cold outside. I decided to style some new winter pieces I received from Chicwish. Some of these will work perfect for Valentine’s Day coming up, but all of these are fool proof winter outfits that will keep you warm, but not boring.
Thank you Chicwish for sponsoring this post!
CONTRAST COLOR FUZZY HEARTS KNIT SWEATER
When I saw this darling sweater on their website, I knew it needed a spot in my closet. Not only is it perfect for Valentine’s Day with the pink hearts, I think it is great for all winter long. Admit it. You totally adore this cuddly-cute sweater. With its pretty pink fuzzy hearts and warm knit material, you’re going to love layering up in it all winter long.
When first opening it, I was surprised by the quality. It was thick and soft (not itchy). It is a more of an oversized fit (I got my TTS medium), and a little boxy. But for a cozy sweater, that is exactly what I am looking for.
I styled this knit two ways – both great ideas for Valentine’s Day. The first way is a more dressier way. I did the classic bra tuck, and added a neutral suede skirt. Threw on my favorite bone white sock booties, and if I had a Valentine, I guarantee you this would be the look I would wear. My second look is a more casual Valentine’s Day look. A simple pair of cropped denim, and a fun bootie and the look is complete.
KNIT YOUR LOVE TURTLENECK SWEATER IN WHITE
Talk about the definition of cozy. This sweater is thick! If you look closely you can tell that the poms form little hearts all over the sweater – making this another great Valentine’s Day choice, or just another winter sweater. I love the crisp white color as well.
This sweater may be thick, but it is not as warm as I would have thought. The holes between the knit are a little bigger allowing cold air to come through. However, it is so so soft! I worry because lots of sweaters like these are itchy, but I would wear this one all day. Also the turtleneck is massive! If I didn’t fold it it would have reached above my chin. It would be cute I some looks, but for these I rolled down the neck and it worked great.
For the first look I left it untucked so you can see where it hits on me (I’m 5’3 for reference). I paired with a pair of black jeans and chunky boots. I feel like this is a little bit of an edgier look, and it counteracts the super girly poms on the sweater. For look 2 I bra tucked it, and pair with a pair of brown leather pants and this one is normally more my style.
ONE HEART RIB KNIT OVERSIZED SWEATER IN RED
The most cliché Valentine’s Day sweater you can find, but I am here for it! I also will be sporting this during the holidays, or actually any day that I want to spread some love. I love the red and white color combo!
They say this sweater is oversized, but I have to disagree. I can barely wear it with leggings (covering my crotch) and it doesn’t really over my butt. I would style with a cardigan or shacket in the future. But the material is soft, not super thick, but overall super good!
For look #1, it was exactly what I envisioned in my head pairing with this sweater. My Spanx faux leather leggings. It still works, but again I would pair something over it to make sure my bum is covered. For look #2 I really liked how it was put together. I love how you can style this casually too with just a pair of ripped jeans and sneaks. This sweater would also be cute tucked into a skirt with high boots too!
CLASSY OPEN FRONT KNIT COAT IN LIGHT TAN
Talk about a chic piece! When I unwrapped this one I was blown away by the quality. It is a thick knit material with the most beautiful lapels. One thing though, it is not way a coat. It is a thicker cardigan. I went with my true to size, and I would not be able to layer a sweater underneath this. However, I would not go up because the length is perfect on my body.
Look number 1 is definitely for my neutral lovers. Yes this cardigan is for all of you! Keeping it elevated with a white turtleneck and neutral booties pulls it all together! I wanted to put together nighttime/date night look with this piece, and thought that leather pants would be the best option. Since it is freezing outside, I went with a turtleneck, but a black bodysuit would look just as good. I tied it all nicely in a bow with leopard heels.
You can find all of these pieces on www.chicwish.com, also be on the lookout for their new spring arrivals!
