How many of y’all have a tub in your bathroom, but NEVER use it? That is me! Decorating our master bathroom was one of the most fun rooms for me. I had this vision of tropical spa – lots of greenery, teak wood and white. I made that vision come to life, and now I have the perfect bath station, but I find myself rarely utilizing it. I have a whole post about my bathroom decor here!
Trying to stay positive during this pandemic, I have found myself gravitating towards my tub again. I find it relaxing in the morning with my chai tea or to wind down in the evening with a glass of wine.
I figured it would be fun to share all of my bubble bath essentials so you too can start using that gorgeous tub in your bathroom. It makes no sense to have it and not use it. I mean what else do you have to do these days?
Bath salts/bath bomb
This is a must in every bubble bath I take. I like mixing it up depending on my mood. If I feel like I need to destress I grab scents like eucalyptus. If I just want to relax, lavender is my go too. Usually if I take a bath in the morning I go for more refreshing scents like fruity or coconut to make me feel like I’m somewhere tropical.
I have a little basket on the side of the tub that I have a mini collection of a bunch of salts, oils, bath bombs, really anything I would want to add to my bath!
Face masks
Next up on my essential list for bubble baths is a face mask. I find that sheet masks are my favorite during a bath because you can wear them for longer periods of time, unlike some clay masks that harden after 10 minutes.
I found these sheet masks on Amazon and have been loving them. They come in a back of 7 for $13! They have a whole bunch of different types, I got the variety pack to try different ones. I love the brightening, tea tree, and firming masks so far! They also smell amazing!
If I’m not in a mood for a face mask, I reach for an eye mask. I have been using these cucumber ones and they are so refreshing!
Headband
Mitch is always hysterical when I put my headband on, but I wear it almost every night or whenever I am doing skincare. It is so comfy, and keeps my hair out of my face. I hate when I am washing my face and half of my face wash ends up in my hair. So this is the perfect solution!
I use this headband whenever I am doing a mask, washing my face, or doing my make up and want my hair out of my face. The best part is it is only $9!
Good Book
This is a must for me whenever I find myself in the tub. Even if it is a magazine, any reading material will do. I am currently reading “Sorry Not Sorry” and it is a cute rom-com. A very quick read. I am trying to mix up the genres, and I just finished “Nightingale” which is a historical fiction novel. Which I HIGHLY recommend. So I needed a more lighthearted book next, so I grabbed this one. I have a whole post about books I’ve been loving lately here!
If reading isn’t your thing – throw on a podcast and enjoy!
Drink of choice
My drink of choice depends on what time of day it is. If my bath is in the morning I grab one of my oak milk chai tea lattes (recipe here!) or a big glass of lemon water.
If my bath is in the evening I am grabbing myself a glass of wine.
Whatever your drink of choice is to make you happy is the right answer!
Bath Board
Now in order to have all of my belongings for my bath, without having to worry about getting everything wet, I grab my handy dandy bath board. It is great because I can put everything on it and keep my hands dry.
It has a spot for your book, or iPad if you choose to watch a show, your phone, drink, and anything else you want to bring in the tub with you!
Just be careful to not knock it over with your knees, I am guilty and it resulted in a very wet book and a bathtub full of wine.
Candles
Candles and baths just go hand in hand. I try to match the scents inside the tub with my candles.
I also put on my diffuser to get extra scents in the bathroom. If you have not jumped on the essential oil and diffuser train yet, you need to. I am finding myself turning it on multiple times a day. When I wake up, before I fall asleep, and whenever I feel anxious or stressed. The different oils help with different things. This was a Christmas present from Mitch, and it has been put to great use in our house!
With all of these things in line I am ready to have a relaxing bath. I challenge you to have a bubble bath during quarantine. It will help keep your relaxed and it’s just fun to have a little spa moment! Remember to tag me in your bathtub set up pics!
