Our Belize trip is two weeks away! Two weeks until white sand, swaying palm trees, and bluest of blue oceans (can you tell I absolutely love the beach?). Our little vacay will be full of beach days, and making sure I pack the perfect beach bag is essential. I do not want to forget anything so I can leave the hotel for the day and not have to worry about running back.
To me the perfect beach bag is light weight, big, and fun. Right now, the straw bag trend is everywhere, and I feel like a straw bag makes a great beach bag. I linked a few here, here, here, and here. Let’s take a look inside my beach bag.
Banana Boat Sunscreen
I am very much a sun goddess. I love a good bronze on my skin and I enjoy the sunshine. However, I am unfortunately allergic to the sun. Buzz kill I know, but that in no way stops me from my beach days. I just have to be extra careful and make sure I have lots of sunscreen. To add an added layer, I am allergic to different types of sunscreen. After lots of trial and error, and lots of allergic reactions I have found that Banana Boat sunscreen works the best for me. I usually travel with about 3 bottles of it, just so I know I will not run out. Also with international travel, not all countries will carry that brand, so it is better to be safe than sorry. I also do not leave for any trip without my emergency steroid medicine to combat an allergic reaction if it happens. Sunscreen is so so important for any skin type, and especially on those hot sunny beach days. Plus lobster is not a good look on anyone.
Trusty Sunnies (and back ups)
Whenever I am packing for vacation, especially a beach vacation I include a good pair of sunglasses and a back up pair of sunnies. These Quay Australia sunglasses will be coming with me to Belize. However, I will be bringing a more affordable pair with me for activities that they might fall off during. With my eyes being super light blue, they are extremely sensitive to the sun, so always making sure I have sunnies in my beach bag is a must.
A Straw Hat
Being allergic to the sun, and having gotten sun poisoning more times than I wish to admit, a hat is something I am trying to incorporate into my beach bag. Again, no one wants to leave the beach looking like a lobster, and have you ever had a sun burnt scalp? If not, you don’t want to, it is the worst. I picked up this adorable straw hat from Aldo when I made my quick trip home, and immediately put it in my suitcase for Belize. I love the baby pink ribbon and it will go perfectly with all of the bathing suits I packed.
Sun Bum Lip Balm
If you have had burnt lips, you know that it is one of the most painful experiences. I always try to be proactive and pack Sun Bum because it works amazing. It tastes good, and protects your lips from the hot sun. It’s a win win if you ask me. I put it on every time I reapply sunscreen.
Of course I have sandals, a beach towel, and a good book in my beach bag. However, these are the things that I will not leave the hotel without. I can almost taste the salt water and I cannot contain my excitement. Are you heading to the beach for Spring Break? Let me know!
