I thought it would be kind of fun, to take a random week and show y’all what I wore every day so you can see my every day style! These are real outfits that I put together myself during a week here in New Orleans. I did a variety of things this week, so you can also get a glimpse of how I dress for certain activities or events. Let’s get started shall we?
Sunday
Fun fact about this little Zara piece that will blow your mind: it’s actually a romper!! You got it, there are shorts under this thing, that make it so so comfy. The color is so unique, the deep turquoise is quite inviting. Mitch and I went to my first crawfish boil, and let me tell you, it was amazing. I did not suck their heads, but they were very yummy, and dirty. So my next crawfish boil I would not recommend a dress.
Since it is still winter, I decided to pair the flirty dress with my snakeskin booties. I love adding a mix of styles together in one outfit. The dress is feminine and the booties are more edgy.
Monday
Mondays are usually lazy days. With the spring weather that has hit New Orleans, it has been fun to pull out a few spring pieces from my wardrobe. This adorable ruffle tee from Altar’d State is a perfect spin to a basic t-shirt. The material is soft and the ruffles add a little feminine touch which I love to incorporate into my outfits.
Now onto one of my favorite pairs of shoes in my collection. These Steve Madden vans were a steal in the clearance section of Marshalls for $16! Everyone probably thought they were too much with the textured florals, but they were right up my alley so I scooped them up and they are some of my most worn shoes.
Tuesday
Finally, this week it was warm enough to break out the shorts, and I was one happy girl! These high waisted distressed denim shorts from Express will be on heavy rotation during the warmer months. I am a girl with a little junk in her trunk, so finding a pair of denim shorts that fit my smaller waist and my bigger behind is a challenge, but these fit so well. Also, I like the length of these shorts. I am way over the stage of having my butt cheeks hang out, and these are just the length that I feel comfortable in.
Now onto this fun t-shirt. As you can probably tell by now, I don’t really like wearing a whole lot of basics, I like finding basic pieces that have a little more personality to incorporate into my wardrobe. The added texture of this fringe tee is everything, and I think it is just so darling. It was also a steal from Shein for $9! Now I have a love/hate relationship with Shein. The sizes are sometimes unpredictable, I tend to size up whenever I order from there, and the quality isn’t always the greatest, but I have found some hidden gems which are great additions to my closet.
Wednesday
With another sunny day here in the Big Easy, I wanted to pull together another easy spring look. The multi-colored tassel tank from Francesca’s screams everything spring. The light weight material will keep you cool. The high neckline is one of my favorite looks on me personally. I think I have good shoulders and a higher neckline helps accentuate them.
I paired this tank with just a simple pair of dark denim with distressed ends. I like how they are cropped so I can show off my footwear more. This light pink Steve Madden (surprise, I know) ruffle slides work perfect with this look. In my eyes anything in the pink color wheel is a neutral, so almost every outfit I wear has some shade of pink in it.
Thursday
Speaking of pink, you can’t get more pink than this sweater. This sweater just screams Britt. I have quickly learned that the weather is all over the place in New Orleans during this time of the year. I was wearing shorts 3 days ago, and now I’m back to sweaters. However, I am so sick of the boring colors of winter, so this sweater is great to transition into spring with the bright color.
On to another extremely fun and totally Britt pair of shoes. These bad boys are from a boutique in Las Vegas and I am completely obsessed. First of all they are the perfect shade of blush that again is a neutral in my wardrobe. Then, the massive bow on the top I just can’t get over how cute it is. But wait, there’s more: rose gold sequins along the side. Like the designer of this shoe knew it would end up in my closet, I almost cried happy tears when I saw these glittering across the store. Please be prepared to see these shoes A LOT!
Friday
If you really haven’t caught onto the pink theme in almost all of my outfits, here is yet another example. Striped sweaters seemed to be everywhere this season. Does anyone else automatically sing the Sponge Bob song, “The best time to wear a striped sweater, is all the time” whenever they see one? One thing I always try to do when trying new trends is to stick to my own personal style and not force myself to try a trend just because it’s in or all over Instagram. I was kind of iffy with all the different color blocking striped sweaters and took me forever to find one that I felt would fit into my wardrobe. I love the colors in this one, and it again transitions nice into the spring with the soft warmer colors.
This hat added a little more style to the overall look, so it is not just a sweater and jeans. I feel it adds a little of a hipster feel to your outfit, which I sometimes dig. One of my fashion New Years resolutions was to dabble a little more with hats. For some reason I feel like they are intimidating. I never really knew when it was an appropriate time to wear one, and so on. But, let me tell you, the right time to wear a hat is whenever your little heart desires. They add a fun element to your look. So I am excited to see which other hats I can incorporate into my looks.
Saturday
Last look of the week, and surprise, there is no pink whatsoever! Even though pink is the most represented color in my closet I do try to step outside the box a little and work with some other colors. Green is a color that I may own 2-3 pieces in. I love this bold cami with the stripes however.
To add some texture to this look, I thought a fuzzy cardigan would be the perfect touch. It softens up the bold print of the cami, and it is just simply so cozy. I love the cropped bell sleeves. However, they are not ideal if you are eating queso or need to reach over food in general, just speaking from experience. But still so cute and I think everyone needs a fuzzy cardi in their life.
Now onto my shoes. I have a slight obsession over mules, and I think they are great for spring. These metallic silver ones were hiding in the clearance section of Target for $10. So naturally I just had to get them because I love shiny things. I have found that these mules add a little glam to any look. Who doesn’t love some glam?
So there it is folks, a glimpse of what I wear during a week. It includes a lot of pink and fun little elements. I like to call myself a proud non-outfit repeater. I think it is fun to try to take different pieces and see what they look like paired with different things. I think fashion and dressing for the day should be fun and it is an opportunity to show the world your personality.
Cheers y’all!
