Rumor has it that it is National White T-shirt day, so what better way to celebrate than to show y’all how I style a basic white tee.
A basic white tee is a staple in my closet, and I love how it is so versatile. You can dress it up or keep it casual. With spring right around the corner, I figured I would put together 4 looks with a basic white tee that will be perfect for spring.
I love my Madewell white tee. I found that splurging a little on a nice white t-shirt will be better in the long way. Finding one that is not see-through, will wash nice, and is made out of a nice firm material is a task, but once you find it you will be happy. I enjoy my white tees a little loose so I can do more with it. Whether that be tuck it in, tie it up, etc., I feel that a looser fitting white tee is the way to go.
Embellished Denim
My first look with a basic white tee is with embellished denim. These jeans are Lucky Brand, and the bright pom-poms are the most adorable things ever. I love the vintage look with the sturdy denim. The high waist is super flattering and helps elongate your legs. I am someone who likes to add a little pizzaz to each outfit, and instead of just wearing a white tee and denim, I love the added flair and fun of this pair. This takes a very basic outfit, jeans and a t-shirt, and adds some sass for this upcoming spring.
I paired the look with Kate Spade gold metallic mules to soften up the look and add some more femininity. If I were to describe my style it would be preppy, feminine, and pink, and this outfit embodies all of that.
Straw hat and Jean Shorts
I just adore this second look. With springtime getting closer, it is time to pull out those shorts. I love this pair of high-waisted jean shorts from Express. They are so comfy and I love the little detailing on the side. The distressed hem adds a casual element to the look. I will be sporting these shorts all spring and summer.
I added this straw hat to add a little more to the outfit. I love hats during the spring time, especially a straw hat. A straw hat adds a beachy feel to any outfit. This outfit makes me want to run away to the beach and sit under the palm trees drinking a fruity drink. This hat was a steal, I found it at Target for a whopping $10. Run, don’t walk to your nearest Target and pick yourself up one right now.
To complete this beachy look number 2, I added bow slide sandals. They give the outfit a soft touch and warms it up by adding in a linen fabric to the mix of harsh denim. I found these babies hiding in the clearance section of DSW for $20. I love the DSW clearance section, and I never leave empty handed.
Neck Scarf and Distressed Denim
I feel like a little French girl in this outfit, and it is giving me all of the Paris feels. Neck scarves are one of my favorite spring trends. They were popular in the fall, and I love how they are coming back this spring in so many fun prints and patterns. I snagged this one from Madewell, and I am so excited to try out all the ways to wear it. A scarf this size is so extremely versatile. You can tie it around your neck like I did here, or you can tie it around your pony tail for a more bohemian vibe, or you can tie to around your favorite handbag to add some flair to your look.
Let’s take a minute to appreciate these jeans. The distressed boyfriend jeans. Hello comfort. I could probably sleep in these jeans they are so comfy. The looser more relaxed fit of boyfriend jeans add a chill factor to any look. I love pairing a lighter wash denim with the white tee to add brightness to the look.
On to my bag, which Blake and Mitchell call it my crate bag. If you have been on Instagram or any other blogger’s feed, you know that this bamboo bag is breaking the Internet, and wallets of the world. This bag is everywhere this spring. I like to say I was ahead of the game because I found this bag at a store in Panama for half of the price that they are selling it in the states. I came home, and all of a sudden this bag was on my Instagram feed every day. It adds the perfect spring element to any look. I will be sporting this handbag a ton, despite what my future husband and little brother have to say about it.
T-shirt Dress
Now, I am going to be a little honest with y’all for a hot minute. I was so skeptical when I saw this trend rising in popularity. The t-shirt under dress look. I just kept having flashbacks to when I was in elementary school and my mother would always want me to wear a t-shirt under my jumper. I thought this trend would make me look younger (than I already look). However, once I put this outfit out, I was feeling it. It adds a perfect little extra something to the dress. This dress is from a boutique in Lake Geneva and I love the button straps and the big bows on the side.
I added this cute little hat to help make a cohesive look. I thought it pulled the outfit together making it a tad bit more dressy. This look will be perfect for brunch, going to the farmer’s market, or an evening out.
I think every woman should have a staple go-to basic white T-shirt. You can wear it so many ways. It is such a timeless piece that will never go out of style. Also, depending on your style whether it be simple, sassy, hipster, boho, preppy, or whatever it may be, there is a way to style a basic white tee.
Cheers y’all!
