My Summer Wardrobe Essentials - Basically B Fashion

Summertime is here! As things are definitely still weird, I have been adjusting to the new normal.

My favorite time of the year to get dressed is in the summer! I love how fun and playful everything is! All of the fun prints, colors, styles, it’s right up my alley!

I figured as things start to open up here in Kentucky, I can finally bring out all of my summer pieces. While I love a trendy piece as much as the next girl, I have my summer wardrobe essentials that I find myself grabbing every time I get dressed!

Straw Hat

A straw hat is a staple in my closet during the summer. They elevate any look and keep the sun out of your eyes. You can find me with a straw hat on any beach or pool day. I love how you can dress them up with a dress, or wear them casual with shorts and a tee.

Denim Shorts

I feel like the epitome of summer wardrobe is denim shorts. You can wear with them anything! However, denim shorts can be hard to find. Especially if you are like me and don’t like them tight and you want your booty covered. I found these mom shorts at Madewell, and I have been sold ever since. They are the first ones I grab in my closet! I always size up with denim shorts because I personally like a more relaxed fit.

Breezy Romper

If there is one article of clothing I choose to wear in the summer it is rompers. They are not only easy to style, but they are so comfy (unless when you have to go to the bathroom). I love how there are so many different varieties: dressy, casual, sporty! I love a breezy romper especially when it starts to get hot and humid!

Swimsuit

Summer is full of pool, boat, and beach days for me! I practically live in swimsuits! I have an overflowing drawer of bathing suits. All from cheap trendy ones to ones I will have for years! I am a big fan of high waisted bikinis, but so not a fan of extremely cheeky bathing suits. When picking out my swimsuits I strive to be fashionable, comfortable, and cute in my swimwear! I also know the difference between a boating swimsuit where there will be lots of swimming and activities vs. a lay out at the pool swimsuit!

Headbands

When the weather gets real humid, as I hear it does in Kentucky, my go to hair accessory is a headband. It keeps your hair out of your face and gives any look a polished and put together feel. You can find me always sporting a headband when I am between hair washes or if my hair feels greasy. I love how feminine they are. I enjoy many fun prints and colors to spice up my look! They are the perfect accessory in my book.

Colorful Sundresses

Something about a sundress during summer. They just go hand in hand. I find myself gravitating towards fun colors and prints during the summertime more than ever! Nothing against a LBD, I just think its more fun to wear a pink polkadot dress! With so many different sundresses out there, you can’t go wrong from finding one that you absolutely adore!
