We are about halfway through January, how are you resolutions going? Are you drinking more water? Are you moving your body more? I tend to not have resolutions, but to focus on aspirations (trust me it is a lot less stressful and doesn’t put as much pressure on you).
One of my aspirations in 2023 is to move my body in a way that brings me confidence and joy. Long are the days of working out because I feel like I need to. I want to reward my body with movement because I am lucky enough to do it.
I have been a part of the Peloton family for over a year now, and it was one of the best decisions for my well-being. Being able to work out at home has been a game changer, and I was nervous that I wouldn’t be motivated because I really enjoy the morale of in studio work outs.
I of course love the spin classes that Peloton offers, but the last few months I have really been taking advantage of the whole program by adding strength, barre, and Pilates classes.
There are so many Peloton instructors out there sometimes I don’t know who to choose! But depending on what mood I am in, will help sway my decision. If you are new to Peloton or looking to switch up your instructors, here is a list of my favorite instructors based on whatever mood I am in. Whether it is for a good sweat, or just for a good time – there is always an instructor and/or class that will get the job done!
Peloton Instructors Based On My Mood
To feel empowered: Robin Arzón
Classes: Bike, Tread, Strength
Robin is the QUEEN of Peloton and she deserves that crown and wears it proudly. After one of Robin’s classes I feel like I can conquer the world! She keeps the energy level high and constantly spitting out motivational quotes. She will remind you that you are wearing a crown while you ride, and make you feel truly incredible.
If you are looking for a really hard class go for the classes where she is wearing yellow. She says those are her most difficult ones because yellow is her power color!
For a good laugh: Cody Rigsby
Classes: Bike, Strength, Bike Boot camp
When I want to laugh and feel good, and potentially dance in and out of the saddle and feel a little bit like a ho* I seek out Cody. I constantly find myself laughing out loud and he makes the classes fly. Now his classes aren’t as intense as some of the other instructors, but boy are they a good time! His XOXO Cody classes are so fun!
I tend to do Friday classes with Cody to start my weekend off in a great mood!
To feel like you’re with your workout buddy: Kendall Toole
Classes: Bike, Strength, Shadowboxing
Kendall is a instructor that I am constantly looking for new rides. She is so upbeat, positive, but truly kicks your butt. Her playlists get me amped-up and bring back all the high school feels. I feel like I am working out with a girlfriend. She talks a lot about stuff that I am currently going through, so she is very relatable.
She is an emo-kid at heart, and her punk pop and metal rides are intense. I normally go for her hit and hills, pop, 90’s, etc… rides!
I do want to dabble in shadowboxing and see what that is all about. It looks like a great stress reliever!
To feel confident and strong: Callie Gullickson
Classes: Strength and bike boot camp
If there are any Peloton instructors that are like me, it is Callie. She loves bright colors, Trader Joes, her dog, and the beach. She is all about BYOE (Bring Your Own Energy) and she is my go to instructor for all strength classes.
Her classes fly by, they are so fun, and are a great workout! She makes me laugh, she is genuine, and I want to be her friend! She is all about using movement to feel confident and get stronger, and I honestly love her!
For party vibes: Camila Ramón
Classes: Bike, Tread, Strength
If you want to feel like you are dancing at the clubs in Miami, Camila is your girl! She brings the party to both her English and Spanish classes. There’s a genuineness to her that I really appreciate. She’s not just putting on a show: she’s right there with you, getting her sweat on and making it really fun at the same time.
I love that she is always talking about positive body image. A lot of professional fitness instructors have amazing bodies that the normal gal does not. Camila recognizes her thicker thighs, booty, and everything that her body offers her. It is refreshing to have someone like her in the fitness realm!
For a booty burn: Hannah Corbin
Classes: Bike, Strength, Barre, Stretching
I LOVE Hannah’s barre classes! You really feel the burn. She is so authentic, silly, and all of her classes are fun. She embraces her quirky personality while pushing you to keep going.
On the bike she is just as fun and just makes you feel good while working out. I love her country happy hour rides, but she has so many different genres which is nice for any mood you are in. She makes you forget about the numbers and pushes you to do what feels good.
To feel inspired: Ally Love
Classes: Bike, Strength, Barre
Motivation is the first word that comes to mind when I think of Ally. She is one of my go to for a morning workout. She just brings a smile to your face while you are sweating. I feel so inspired to achieve all of my dreams after taking her classes. Whether it is a country ride, or a hip hop barre class I know I will feel like the best version of myself after working out with her.
To chill out: Aditi Shah
Classes: Pilates, Yoga, Meditation
Peloton Pilates, Yoga, and Mediation are all new categories I am just starting to discover. I have really enjoyed Pilates, and Aditi is such a good instructor. I have never done Pilates before, but have quickly moved up to the more intermediate classes with her.
Her voice is so calming, but her classes will kick your butt. I actually did a 20 minute Pilates class with her this morning and my abs are so sore! I have been wanting to incorporate more Pilates in my routine, and she has made it super enjoyable.
For body weight only workouts: Rebecca Kennedy
Classes: Tread, Strength, and Tread Bootcamp
Rebecca is a newer trainer that I started working out with, but she is so stinking fun! I recently joined her standing core program and I have been loving it! She has a very advanced level of training, but her dance background makes it super familiar to me. She has taught me, too, that body weight works — moving with intention and really engaging my muscles.
Her classes are high energy, and the time flies by!
To get your butt kicked: Tunde Oyeneyin
Classes: Bike and Strength
Tunde is notoriously known for her challenging (but motivating) classes, and she’s all about training hard with intention. You can definitely expect some tough love and she often reminds you that her job is to push you, but she’ll never let you fail. Her 10 minute arm workouts are KILLER!
Whether you’re looking to boost your cardio or build muscle, and a good old butt kicking, tune into one her classes. She will always have a fire playlist and lipstick color!
When you aren’t motivated to work out: Olivia Amato
Classes: Bike, Tread, Strength
Queen of glitter, Olivia is the cutest! But don’t let the sequins fool you, she is hardcore and here to train. She’s a boss. Her rides have me sweating in no time, and I swear she can see me through the screen, because her encouragement to keep going always seems to come when I’m most exhausted. Her IG bio says “ur #1 hype girl” and I can see why.
If I am ever not really in the mood to work out, she is my go to instructor because I know she will keep me motivated and challenged.
I know I am forgetting some instructors, but I tried to narrow it down to my go to ones! But please let me know your favorite instructors so I can try them out!
Remember in 2023, we are moving our body to feel confident and strong!
