Does anyone else have the bad case of the travel itch? Ever since we have been told we are not able to go anywhere, I have been having travel fever to get out and explore. I have probably “planned” 10 trips since being in quarantine, and the first thing I want to do when it is safe to travel is to book a trip! The hard part is deciding where to go.
Everywhere is on my travel bucket list. I want to explore every corner of this earth and see all the glory it has to offer. I have been so blessed to already see a fraction of our planet. I have visited 20 countries and have been 4 continents – I still need Asia and Australia. I will probably never visit Antartica, but never say never I guess.
Traveling is my favorite thing ever! I am always dreaming of new places, and once we decide we are going on a vacation planning it is half the fun. I love researching what to do, what to eat, and places to see. I get this from my mother – who is the best vacation planner EVER! She usually takes around 6 months to plan each vacation.
My mom and I unfortunately had to cancel an amazing trip we were going to take in June. It was going to be our first trip to Asia. We were going to Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia. Talk about a dream vacation! We were so excited – but plans had to be pushed back. But we are happy we are safe in the long run.
With Earth Day this week, I thought it would be fun to share my top travel destinations on my bucket list currently. This is constantly changing because like I said earlier I want to go everywhere! But these places have been on my list for a long time or are just peaking my interest at the time.
Britt’s Travel Bucket List
Thailand
Thailand has been on list forever. I was over the moon ecstatic to finally experience this amazing country this summer, however I will get there one day! From an ethical elephant sanctuary to the floating markets and picture perfect beaches. Also I will probably eat my weight in pad thai!
Vietnam
Another Asian country on my bucket list for some of the same reasons as Thailand. Just the beauty and culture I want to experience!
Bali, Indonesia
Mitch and I are thinking of planning a trip to Bali for our 1 year anniversary since we are only going on a mini honeymoon. Something about this country seems so romantic!
Dubai
Being the most modern city in the world, also home to the tallest building in the world I have had a fascination with Dubai for a few years now. I would only need to spend a couple days because I prefer not staying in concrete jungles my whole trip, but still an experience to have!
Egypt
Another trip that I had planned that had to be postponed. This one was not due to the covid-19 pandemic, but because Mitch and I got engaged and due to safety reasons. My family was planning a trip to Egypt and a hop over to Jordan to see Petra last year. This has been on my mother’s bucket list for some time! I promise we will get there soon ma!
Istanbul, Turkey
One major thing on my bucket list is to ride in a hot air balloon in Turkey. It just looks unbelievable. Also I have heard so many amazing things about Turkey. Once it is safer for a woman to travel there, you bet I will be booking my plane ticket!
Amalfi Coast, Italy
Italy was one of my top favorite countries to visit. I cannot wait to go back one day! I want to visit more of the countryside of Italy this time and not just the big cities.
Southern France
After being to Paris and the white wine countryside of France, it is time for me to travel south in the country. The lavender fields in Provence have been on my bucket list ever since I learned about them. Southern France just seems so dreamy.
Spain
I often sometimes forget I have never been to Spain because it has been on my list for so long. My problem is I would want to explore the whole country and not narrow it down to a couple cities or regions. From Barcelona to Madrid to Seville to every corner I would want to explore!
Croatia
After falling in love with Greece, I think Croatia would be a great addition to my travel adventures. It just oozes beauty! I also feel like it is slightly less popular than Greece, making it less crowded and more intimate which is right up my alley.
Portugal
A European destination that I feels tends to get over looked. However it is on my list!
Morocco
I have always been interested in traveling to Morocco. I’m thinking that Morocco/Portugal would be a good combination because they are so close in proximity. However, being a woman I would need to do way more research, but these pictures make me want to book a trip ASAP!
Tanzania
After going on my first safari a few years ago in South Africa, I have been dying to experience another one. A safari was a bucket list item that I thought I would never get to cross off, however I was lucky enough to experience it and I cannot recommend it enough. I wrote a post about my South African Safari here. I want to experience other parts of Africa – especially Tanzania and Kenya area!
