If you haven’t figured it out yet, I am in full fall mode! My house is full of pumpkins, there is a crisp in the air, I am ordering pumpkin everything, and my wardrobe is getting a whole lot more cozy. Now that it is “officially” fall (even though I have been in fall mode since after Labor Day), my calendar is filling up with all of the fall activities – and I am not mad about it.
I will admit I am a basic fall girl through and through and I will embrace all things that come with the season. Pumpkin patch? You bet! Apple picking? When and where? I will never turn down a fall activity.
I thought it would be fun to 1. put a list of fun fall activities to do this month and 2. what to wear to said events. I dress for every occasion and I pride myself for that. I think it makes fashion more fun! So let’s get started on what to wear to every fall activity.
Pumpkin Patch
The quintessential fall activity. A good old pumpkin patch. Now if I am being honest I feel like they are just for families now, but I do love picking up goodies from the market. No trip is complete without some apple cider donuts. I also admit I buy my pumpkins at the grocery store because they are so much cheaper than at the pumpkin patch. But I love the nostalgia of a pumpkin patch and you bet you will find me at one or 2 this fall! Plus if we are being honest, at this age we are just going to the pumpkin patch to get Instagram content.
This is the moment to break out your plaid. Whether that be a shacket, flannel, anything! I am personally not a fan of the gals that wear dresses/skirts to the pumpkin patch because most of the time they are muddy and you get dirty – so I would go more casual for sure! This is also exactly what I would wear apple picking as well!
Brewery
Honestly a brewery is an all year destination for me, but something about getting an Oktoberfest or pumpkin beer in the fall just feels right. I also love a good cider in the fall. This is also a great date idea. I love suggesting a brewery as a first date idea!
My go to combo for a brewery outing is jeans + sneakers + sweater. It is comfy, casual, and cute!
Tailgate or Football Game
Whether it is a high school, college, or NFL game, odds are you will find yourself at least at one tailgate (which may or may not be followed by actually watching the game). The best rule of thumb? Keep it cool and casual. Relaxed jeans, a crew neck with your team’s logo or colors, and/or a baseball hat or a beanie and you will be looking like a sports girlie (even if you aren’t). Opt for a belt bag that you can wear across your chest to carry your belongings fuss-free. GO BEARS!
(Don’t forget: Many stadiums only allow clear bags inside. Make sure to check the rules of wherever you’re headed so you don’t find yourself stuck with a bag you can’t bring into the game.)
Spooky Movie Night
There are few things as blissful as cuddling up under a blanket, pouring yourself a drink, lighting a candle, and settling in for a spooky movie night. Even if your definition is Hocus Pocus. Pull out that matching set and cozy socks for this spooky activity!
Date Night
Date nights are notoriously difficult to dress for, but this season’s trends make choosing an outfit easy. Take advantage of the leather trend by rocking a pair of leather shorts or leather pants. Make sure you’re prepared for the weather wearing a sweater or by layering a blazer on top, which you can take on and off depending on the setting. Complete with heeled booties for a vibe that’s both sophisticated and sexy.
Fall Foliage Hike
One of my favorite part of fall is all of the leaves. I am not the biggest outdoorsy gal, but if it involves looking at all the pretty leaves, sign me up! I am all about monochrome looks this fall, but that doesn’t mean that your active wear can’t get in on the fun. A sporty monochrome look will work perfectly for any fall hike!
Winery
Maybe it is all of the changes leave, or the crisp in the air, but something about this time of year makes me want to go to a winery. I am headed to Michigan with a few of my girlfriends to check out the wineries up there this weekend and I am seriously so excited. I think fall florals is a great option for a winery. Get a little dressed up with some booties and of course complete the look with a flat brim hat! You will be all set for a day of sipping on red wine!
Happy Hour
The best part about going back to the office is all of the coworker happy hours that get planned! I use my 2 days a week at the office as basically social hour and a chance to build my in person relationships with my team and coworkers. That being said I love a simple blazer look to the office that transforms perfectly into an after work happy hour. Pair with a turtleneck and you have a classy and chic look.
Fall Wedding
A fall wedding is beautiful! Though the weather may be unpredictable, you could really luck out on a beautiful night! I think satin for a fall wedding the way to go. No matter the color (just not white), satin oozes class and elegance. Always remember to wear a comfy heel to weddings so you can dance the night away! At our age ladies we do not take our shoes off!
What fall activities are you looking forward too this fall!?
