After what is feels like an eternity of movie nights in and bundling up to go to dinner, it is time to refresh date night, and with the weather warming up (FINALLY!), spring date ideas are practically endless.
When planning a date night this time of year, outdoor activities are a must. Not only because sipping a cocktail on a patio is probably my favorite outdoor activity, but also because activities that are meant to do outside brings a whole different kind of element to dating. Whether it is a first date, or if you have been with your partner for years, nothing is better than getting some fresh air and combining date night.
Take advantage of this new season and switch things up for date night. Spring offers so many romantic, easygoing, and fun ways to spend time together that you are bound to have a good time no matter what you do, but here are some of my personal favorite spring date ideas.
Visit A Winery
Going to a winery is always a good idea, but they are especially enjoyable in the spring. Plus this is the perfect chance to wear that springtime outfit that gives off those vineyard vibes. Head out to your local winery, try different seasonal wines, and enjoy a romantic evening together. There’s no better way to enjoy a spring afternoon in my opinion.
Take A Bike Ride
Dust off your bikes and head out around town! But don’t fear, if you don’t own a bike, lots of parks, cities, etc., will offer bike rentals for the day. Whether you decide to venture out onto a trail, take a casual evening stroll around your neighborhood, or bike to a local restaurant or brewery, going on a bike ride is a fun activity that you can do together.
Sip On Cocktails On A Rooftop
Hands down my favorite outdoor activity. I don’t know what it is about rooftops, but I love them! Change up your happy hours and opt to meet at a roof top. This is also a great first date idea too! No pressure, but still good vibes! You and your partner can enjoy a springtime cocktail with a great view and if you’re lucky you can catch the sunset together.
Go To A Baseball Game
I am completely bias when I say that Wrigley is hands down the best baseball stadium in the country. But you really can’t beat a night at Wrigley. Especially in the spring before it gets unbearably hot out. I think sporting events are such a good date idea. Beer, ballpark food, and a crowd is simply just a good time in my book. Plus I think it is cute to see someone’s competitive side come out. Go Cubs Go!
Pack A Picnic
A picnic is *THE cliche spring date night idea, but for good reasons so. It is one of the easiest, cheapest and most romantic things you can do with your partner. All you have to do is pack a bag with snacks (I always opt for a charcuterie board or any finger food that doesn’t involve silverware), drinks (rosé preferably), music, a game, and a blanket. Find a nice place in a nearby park (or even in your backyard) and enjoy the simplicity that is a picnic.
Go Pedal Boating
Rent a pedal boat on any lake, river, pond or anything and just transport yourself back in time. Nothing is more romantic that a little boat and you and are partner floating around. This gives me all of the Bridgerton and fairytale vibes. I think this is a super fun and unique date idea on a beautiful sunny afternoon!
Hit The Golf Course or Tennis Court
Nothing like little friendly competition! Head to the nearest golf course or tennis court and break a sweat. These are two perfect springtime sports that you really don’t need to be very good at to have a good time! Taking lessons with your partner would also be a fun activity to do so you have a new hobby to enjoy together. I have always wanted to to try pickle ball as well. Maybe this spring will be my time. Catch me on the court!
Enjoy Dinner On A Patio
As soon as the temperature reaches above 60 degrees, I swear everyone just wants to eat outside as much as possible. There really is nothing better than enjoying a meal outside. This is a very common date idea, but had to mention it because nothing beats a good patio. After the pandemic so many places have really amped up their outdoor dining situations, so definitely take advantage and check out a new place or two!
Go On A Nature Stroll
One of the best parts about spring are all of the blooming flowers. There is no better time to soak in some nature that on a spring walk. Head to a state park, botanic garden, or just a walk around the neighborhood and soak in all of the blooming flowers!
What is your ideal spring date?
