It’s officially springtime and New Orleans must have caught word of the news because our weather has been absolutely incredible recently. It actually feels like spring and I just couldn’t be happier about it!!
I am not a fan of winter… at all. Growing up in Chicago, winters dragged and were freezing, gray, and gloomy. Thankfully there is no snow in New Orleans, but the winters are still gray and gloomy. But goodbye winter it is time for spring!
We are getting ready for our big move of the year. . Therefore we only have a couple weeks of spring in New Orleans, so you bet we will be making the most out of it!
So many good things come with spring. Here are a few things I am most looking forward to!
- Longer and sunnier days. Give me all the daylight!!
- Blooming flowers and trees – especially all of the magnolia trees here. Also tulips are my absolute favorite flower so it makes me so happy to see them popping up!
- My birthday! I will be turning a quarter of century old on March 31st.
- Spring fashion. I’m talking florals, dresses, skirts. All the springtime looks will be coming your way!
- Spring cleaning. In the midst of packing up our house we have been going through and cleaning and organizing everything! We each did a huge closet sweep and it’s the best feeling.
- Getting the most out of the amazing roof top bars New Orleans has to offer. Our favorites are Monkey Board and the Ace Hotel. New Orleans in general has great outdoor bars so we will be spending lots of time at them before we leave.
- Spending time outdoors in general. Whether that be a bike ride to the French Quarter, or walks around City Park – As the temperatures continue to rise I want to be outside as much as possible.
- Eating all of the fresh seafood and crawfish I can get my hands on! The food here is probably the thing I miss the most when we are gone.
- One of my best friends is getting married in the beginning of May and I can’t wait to stand by her side on her big day!
- Hopefully Mitch and I can squeeze in a short spring getaway. Even if it is a road trip! I would love to go back to Charleston or visit Key West!
