Today is NATIONAL GRILLED CHEESE DAY! I knew there would only be one place I would be celebrating this cheesy day- Cheesies Pub & Grub!
Cheesies has been serving Chicago gourmet grilled cheeses since 2011. If there is anyplace in the city when you are craving a grilled cheese, you have to stop by Cheesies Pub & Grub.
Whether you are looking for a lunchtime place, or a late night snack (the OG location is located right by Wrigley field), Cheesies has you covered. From the Mac to the Tenderizer, Cheesies has all of your grilled cheese dreams fulfilled.
There are 3 locations around Chicago and to put a cherry on top – a food truck! You can find Cheesies in Lakeview, Wicker Park, and the South Loop. Be sure to follow their Instagram to know where the food truck will be!
You can wash down your grilled cheese with a local brew. They will even suggest grilled cheese and beer pairings. My favorite is “The Caprese” with a local 312 beer. It was delicious and the ultimate cheesiness sandwich. I also loved “The Mozz” which has 4 mozzarella sticks inside the grilled cheese. Talk about a cheesy heaven!
This is a cheese lover’s paradise, especially on National Grilled Cheese Day!
The Grilled Cheese Line Up
Now, as much as I would’ve wanted to try every grilled cheese they offer, I would probably be in a cheese coma for a week! The hardest part is always which grilled cheese to choose. My recommendation is go with a group and order a bunch and share and try as many as your little cheesy heart desires!
The OG
American and Cheddar Cheese Spread on Texas Toast. Served with Tomato Soup Dip.
The Mac
American cheese, cheddar cheese spread and housemade macaroni and cheese on Texas toast. Served with Tomato Soup Dip.
The Caprese
Mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil, cracked black pepper and fresh basil on sourdough. Served w/ creamy pesto mayo dipping sauce.
The Frenchie
American cheese, mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese sauce, steak-cut French fries, bacon and chives on sourdough bread. Served w/ sour cream.
The Classic
Cheddar cheese spread, American cheese, tomatoes, ham and bacon on Texas toast. Served w/ tomato soup dipping sauce.
The Popper
Cheddar cheese, cream cheese, cheddar cheese sauce, fresh jalapeño slices and bacon on sourdough bread. Served w/ chipotle mayo dipping sauce.
The Mozz
Mozzarella cheese and 4 mozzarella sticks on Texas toast. Served w/ marinara sauce.
The Melt
American cheese, mozzarella cheese, marinated chicken breast, bacon, thousand island and tomato on texas toast. Served w/ creamy pesto mayo dipping sauce.
The Tendorizer
Cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, bacon, fried chicken tenders and tendy sauce on Texas toast. Served w/ ranch.
The Edgar
Mozzarella, cheddar cheese, pulled pork, BBQ Sauce, Coleslaw, fried pickles, fried onion strings, on Texas toast. Served w/ ranch.
The Balboa
Thinly sliced steak, grilled onions, and mushrooms, mozzarella cheese, American cheese, cheddar cheese sauce, on sourdough. Served w/ chipotle mayo dipping sauce.
