There’s nothing quite like a Sunday afternoon, snow falling, heated blanket on, hot cup of something in hand, fuzzy socks on and curled up all day binging a new show. To me that sounds like the perfect winter day spent at home.
By now y’all know I love my TV shows! It is my way of winding down at night after work or in the wintertime curling up and staying warm inside. I feel like we have all been watching more tv than normal because we have been spending more time at home.
Whenever I feel like I have had to have watched everything on Netflix that I must be semi-interested in, I stumble upon something new that ends up sucking me in.
I listed out what I have currently been binging, as well as some hidden gems I have found that I think you would enjoy!
The Wilds – Amazon Prime
Lord Of The Flies, but make it female. This dark drama follows a group of teenage girls from all different backgrounds that survive a plane crash and now left to make it on a deserted island. The girls both argue and bond as they learn how to survive on the island. They open up about their dark secrets, traumas, and pasts. There is just one big secret – the girls didn’t end up on the island on accident… I LOVED this show, and am excited that Amazon announced a season 2! This one is a perfect binge during a snow day.
Say I Do – Netflix
If you are looking for a heartwarming show that may make you shed a tear or two – Say I Do is for you! Interior designer Jeremiah Brent, fashion designer Thai Nguyen, and chef Gabriele Bertaccini pull off the dream wedding for couples – in under a week. From the venue, to the dress, to the food these three talented men make it happen to the most deserving couples. Each episode follows a new couple as they learn they get their dream wedding. Trust me on this one, if you are a sucker for weddings, you will adore this feel good show!
Bridgerton – Netflix
There’s a tiny, itty-bitty chance you’ve been living under a rock and have not heard of Bridgerton. The series follows London’s elite in the early 19th century as they seek love and marriage, political alliances, and gossip during the glittering social season. Think of it as if Gossip Girl and Pride & Prejudice had a baby. With only eight episodes and plenty of cliff-hangers and drama to keep you hooked, you’ll tear through the show in a matter of days. They announced that there will be a season 2, and I cannot wait!
Gentefied – Netflix
The Morales cousins scramble to save their grandfather’s taco shop, and pursue their own dreams, as gentrification shakes up their LA neighborhood. I am not ashamed, but I watched this series in one sitting on a freezing Saturday. This show is about a topic that I personally don’t know a lot about, so I was intrigued to learn more. Warning: it will make you crave tacos 100%!
Below Deck – Bravo/Peacock
This has been my nightly guilty pleasure! This Bravo show follows a crew that works on luxury yachts. I am not normally a Bravo TV fan, but for some reason I cannot get enough of this show. From the bosun to stewardess, to Captain Lee, there is always some sort of drama happening aboard. This show cracks me up, and is the perfect fluff show to watch before bed. It also helps that it takes place in the Caribbean because it helps me forget that I live in a tundra. With 8 seasons, this is definitely a bingeworthy show to consider.
The Royals – Amazon Prime
I know I’ve talked about this show before, but if you liked Gossip Girl and if you have any interest in the Royal Family really listen up! This drama about a fictional British royal family in modern-day London is addicting. I flew through all 4 seasons. It is the perfect snow day binge to cuddle up with a cup of tea because you know the Royal family drinks tea!
Reign – Netflix
If you liked Bridgerton, I would definitely check out Reign. I watched this show before Bridgerton came out and I really enjoyed it. If you like historical series, then you would like this historical drama series that tells of the rise to power of Mary, Queen of Scots, with a life full of sexual and political intrigue. Now it is not as steamy as Bridgerton, but if you love the time period and the costumes of Bridgerton – then Reign is for you!
Queen Of The South – Netflix
A true hidden gem on Netflix that is worth watching! Queen of the South tells the story of Teresa Mendoza, a woman who is forced to run and seek refuge in America after her drug-dealing boyfriend is unexpectedly murdered in Mexico. In the process, she teams up with an unlikely person from her past to bring down the leader of the very drug trafficking group that has her on the run. Talk about a strong female lead – this show is action packed!
Killing Eve – Hulu
If you are ready to see Christina Yang in a new light, then this is for you! Sandra Oh plays an M15 agent who’s been assigned to hunt down a highly skilled assassin her. Their cat-and-mouse game ever-increasing in intensity as they become obsessed with one another. This one surprised me on how much I liked it!
