My heart says fall, but the weather is still in summer mode. Does anyone feel me? I am in full fall mode already: pumpkin spice, fall candles, the only thing I need is the matching cozy weather so I can start wearing some fall outfits! Transitioning from summer to fall can seem daunting, but I think I have mastered how to do it!
I am sharing 16 outfit ideas that are perfect for when you want to dress for fall, but it still pretty warm outside!
My favorite way to transition to fall when the temps are still warm is to have warm weather items in fall colors. Think olive green, rust, mustard, maroon, and neutrals. Having pieces in these colors scream fall even if it is a short sleeve dress!

Denim Shorts + Sweater + Sneakers
When the temps are still feeling like summer, and you’re not quite ready to commit to pants, this classic combo is perfect for transitioning to fall! Also these rose gold metallic sneakers are my new favorite!
Denim + Tee + Booties
This pumpkin spice tee could not get you in the fall spirit anymore!
Dress + Denim Jacket
Tying a denim jacket around your waist doesn’t only help define the smallest part of your body but is also perfect for when the temps start to drop in the evenings.
Mom Jeans + Striped Tee + Sneakers
A classic go to daytime look! I think everyone needs a striped tee in their closet!
Paper-bag Shorts + Sweater Tank
Sweater tanks are my favorite! I need to get my hands on more! It’s like I’m ready for sweater weather, but it is still above 70 degrees so a tank is a must! Also I snagged these shorts in a rust color and OMG! Too cute!
Dress + Booties + Hat
My go to look in the fall! I love the florals in fall colors to take a summer staple into the all months.
Denim + Lace Cami + Cardi + Mules
I love having an open toed shoe when transitioning to fall. Sometimes it is too warm for booties, and these do the trick. Also lightweight cardigans are a must!
Leather Shorts + Sweater + Booties
These faux leather shorts are my new obsession. They are perfect for a night out on the town! Paired with a lightweight cropped sweater to compete the look.
Skirt + Blouse + Booties
This outfit just screams falls. I love the color combination and a silk blouse is so lightweight you don’t need to worry about sweating all day.
Denim Shorts + Tee + Utility Jacket
I love the monochrome look here. Whoever made the rule of no white after Labor Day makes no sense. I like off-white denim better than a bright white in the cooler months.
Military Romper + Booties + Hat
I’ve been seeing a ton of military inspired pieces this fall, and though it is not my normal style I am here for it. I made it more Brittany by pairing with a hat!
Skirt + Sweater + Booties
Another go to combination in the fall for me. I love that plaid is making another go around this autumn season. Don’t be afraid to mix black and brown. My skirt has both so I decided to bring them both out!
Leather Leggings + Tee + Flannel
I finally caved and got myself a pair of the Spanx faux leather leggings. If you know me, I usually only wear leggings to work out, but I am excited to see how many different ways I can style these.
Dress Shorts + Blouse + Mules
I have been all about dress shorts this summer when going out in the evening. I think they are classy and chic.
Denim + Bodysuit + Mules
Another great going out look when transitioning. I love high waisted denim paired with a bodysuit because it is flattering on so many different body types. Of course have to throw in some animal print because it is here to stay!
Oversized Silk Shirt + Booties
I love shirt dresses. This silk one is SO LIGHTWEIGHT and feels like I am wearing a nightgown. You can always belt it to give it more shape. But personally I am here for the flowy look.
What’s your go to transitional fall look?
